Reminder: The group projects for cell structure are due in two weeks (10/17/12). The groups are as follows:
Cell Membrane (Amanda M., Brian A., Kristen C.)
Cell Wall (Josh W., Jordan M., Kelly E.)
Cytoskeleton, Centrosomes/Centrioles (Erin K., Roxanne D., Christopher M.)
Nucleus (Karen D, Jimmy K, Daniel C)
Endoplasmic Reticulum (Nicole C, William M, Jonathan R)
Mitochondria (Andrew M, Courtney A, Tiffany B)
Chloroplast (Alyssa Z, Kenny H, Steve E)
Vacuoles/Cytoplasm/Plastids (Grant L, Rachel T, Jason W)
Overview of Prokaryotic Cell (Natalie L, Aaron S, Kyle H)
Overview of Eukaryotic Cell (Sara O, Nick E, Gary T)
Also you need a handout for the class (one for each person in the class, including one for me), and you need your detailed write up for me.
You will be teaching this material to the class, so each group must be "experts" on your topic.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can ask me in class or email me.

Requirements for Flip Chart on Cell Structures
The flip chart for the cell structure must include a drawing of the structure and the function of the structure.
You will need to have one flip page for each of the following items and on the last page a drawing of the whole plant cell and the back of the flip book will be an animal cell.
Cell Membrane
Cell Wall
Cytoskeleton
Centrosomes
Centrioles
Nucleus
Endoplasmic Reticulum
Ribosomes
Golgi Apparatus
Mitochondria
Chloroplast
Vacuoles
Cytoplasm
Plastids
If you need to see an example, ask me in class and I will be more than willing to provide one to you.

First Week of School
The first week of school has came and went and I am so excited to have each of you in our class. I am positive this will be a wonderful year. I am excited to meet your parents next week at back to school night. As a class we have so many wonderful things to look forward to. We have cell projects, a field trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific and so really exciting labs to look forward to. We will even be able to dissect a rat during the year. By the end of the year you will be confident in your knowledge of Biology. I really hope to pass on my love of Biology to you!
